So we're half way to our 30 day goal! Whew! What a journey it has been so far.
Today is Day 15 of 30. I'm at 60 miles down... 65 miles to go! 1240 crunches completed. 1760 to go! Let me just tell you, crunches are still my least favorite part. But I'm pressing in, crunching upwards and making it happen! Even when I don't feel like it. I even think I have ONE LESS dimple! How exciting is that???
OK... maybe you're not as excited as me... but when you notice one less dimple, that's time for some snoopy dancing! If I snoopy dance enough, that might take care of another dimple! Hmmmm... maybe I should start a snoopy dance class at church. :)
When I'm walking on my treadmill, I have a picture in a magazine of this skinny, flat ab woman in front of me. I'd like to say it keeps me pushing through when I want to stop because I want her abs. But the truth is, the ONLY thing that keeps me pushing through is a determination that I CAN accomplish my goals when they are being led by God. Which they are! It brings new meaning to the verse "I can do ALL THINGS through Christ Who gives me strength."
When He lives on the inside of you... as He does me, then you can feel, sense and know His presence in a way that makes you know you can actually accomplish ANY goal... including a weight, eating or exercize goal... Because you're doing it for Him. I've dedicated these 30 days to Him.
I CAN say no to that mouth watering Big Mac... and hot fresh fries... groan... and that delicious chocolate that makes you druel on your pillow at night as you dream about swimming in rivers of chocolate. Yeah... I can say no to that. :)
Someone said to me recently "you're addicted to chocolate like I am". If I'm dreaming about rivers of chocolate, it might make you think so... but the truth is, I'm only addicted to Jesus! It's Him I love. BUT... I really really really really LIKE chocolate. A whole Lot! Milk chocolate of course. That dark bitter stuff is just weird to me. It's like eating tree bark. Why would you? I simply don't get it. But I can live with that.
Chocolate is a craving of my flesh. A really YUMMY craving... but just a craving. I've tried so hard to make it spiritual to justify my need for it, but I simply cannot find a way around it. :)
Learning to "say no" to things that are not good for me is empowering! I still think about Big Mac's... but the more I focus on the GREATER ONE on the inside of me, the less "power" the temptation of a delicious Big Mac has over me. Saying NO gets easier the more I focus on saying "YES" to God.
Isn't that the same for every area of our lives that would cause us to sin and stumble? The more we focus on God, the GREATER ONE on the inside of us, the easier it gets to say NO to temptation, evil, satan and our own selfish desires. We all have them... saying no is much easier when we're saying yes to God. It turns a negative into a positive.
I say NO to what is unhealthy so I can say YES to keeping my temple healthy for God to use. It's worth it. HE'S worth it!
So, to you "half way mark" I say... you're behind me where you belong. I'm going to be like the Apostle Paul... forgetting those things that are behind, I PRESS towards the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus!
This one's for you God! I can even EASILY say no to Big Macs and Chocolate for you. It doesn't even compare. 125 miles, 3000 crunches, 10 pound loss... here I come! :)
30 DAY CHALLENGE begins Monday, April 25th!!! ........................................ You always have your pinky finger with you... (at least I hope you do!) It's the smallest of all your fingers. Let it be your moment by moment reminder that it doesn't take big faith (or big fingers) for miracles to happen and mountains to move! It takes an unmoving faith in a very BIG God!

Meeting the Challenge!
It's easy to get excited over goals and the thought of meeting them. But it gets a little tougher when it's time to push through our natural tendency to NOT follow through on things we have previously failed out or quit on.
Last night when it was time to actually START walking 5 miles... I remember thinking... groan... "why did I do this? Do I really want to follow through with this? What was I thinking???" :-D Well... I was thinking it's time to whip my body into health and a much better shape.
Has that ever happened to you? Do you ever start to do something and shortly after want to quit? Do you know what that is? Do you know WHO that is? Can I tell you? Can I tell you??? :)
We have a real enemy in this world that wants us to fail in every area of our lives. He has a name... it's Satan. Deceiver. Accuser of the Brethren. Thief. Liar. Enemy. He has so many names... and he WANTS us to fail. He doesn't want us to succeed in anything. Not just in spiritual things. Oh he wants us to especially fail there. But he also desires to see us fail in every area of our life so we will end up flat on our face, giving up on God. That's his ultimate goal.
Ever feel like you are being kicked constantly? Are you beating your head up against a wall with doubt and insecurity? Constant thoughts of failure? What do you do in those moments?
When satan comes knocking at the door of your mind with "don't do this. Quit. It's too hard. You don't have time"... no matter what he tries to convince us of, it's in that moment that we have to Choose Life! God's life.
So what do you do when you're facing an uncompleted goal or some major challenge in your life? What do you do when you're facing a thought of failing or failure?
You STAND STRONG in the authority you've been given as a child of God (If you don't know what it is, it's time to find out) and you take authority over the one who stands against you. Satan. KICK HIM BACK TO HELL WHERE HE BELONGS!!! . He doesn't have any real authority over us unless we give it to him. How do we do that? By listening to and acting on his lies. He gets a thrill when he can convince us of his lies.
Find out who you are in Christ. Stand strong in your God given authority! So when satan comes knocking at the door of your mind... you can say "HELL... NO! Satan, in the Name of Jesus, NO! I rebuke you and all your lies and cast you out in Jesus' Name!!! You are back under my feet where you belong!"
You're telling Satan and all of Hell... NO way!!! I'm not giving in to what you have to say.
Then just go right ahead and press through to your goal! Victory is yours if you want it! :)

What is YOUR Goal for the next 30 days???
Let's hear it! Many of you have already shared it with me personally... now it's time to post it here in the comments section. You can see on the previous post that 2 people already have. So now it's your turn. :) (It's right below this post.) Can't wait to hear what you've come up with. We're in for a ride!!!
Today, I ate my "last meal"... of totally delicious, absolutely fattening, totally yummy, dimple growing Mexican food. It was mouth watering good. Of course I wanted to unbutton my pants when I was done because of my terrible display of bad choices in my eating... :)
Some of you saw me eating chocolate this morning at church and called me on it. Thank you for that. But DAY 1 starts tomorrow as I gladly reminded you as I ate each delectable piece of chocolate! Why does it have to be so good? We have a lovely lady here that makes these chocolate marshmallow brownie things that just melt in your mouth. I don’t even care if it becomes stuck in my teeth. It’s just been too good to say no to. But I will! :-D
OK OK, I know... I didn’t make a good choice. But didn't I tell you I'd be totally real with you on all my choices? Can't change that now. But tomorrow's 5 miles and 100 crunches are coming. Whew... can't wait. :-D Ok, let's not stretch the truth here. I'm more excited about the results of those 5 miles and 100 crunches than I am the actual work.
BUT I CAN DO IT!!! So can you... whatever the "it" is for your goal. I have faith in you. Together we CAN make a difference in our lives!!!
It's time to start sharing your goals! WHAT IS YOURS?

LIFE CHANGE in 30 days...
It's hard to believe that a year ago I started this blog... posted a couple of times and that was it. My excuse??? Let me think about that one... I'm sure if I think long enough I'll come up with something REALLY GREAT!
Now that I've thought about it, and taken those few moments to contemplate my response, and I'm certain you'll be totally impressed with my ultra spiritual and mature answer. I now say before you... a confession of truth... and that truth is............... (I hope you're ready for this because you are going to be amazed!)...
My dog ate my computer??? :-D OK OK... he didn't eat my computer. I simply got busy with life, unimpressed with me and this became something that I no longer made time for. That's the real truth.
Here it is a year later and God has done so many amazing things. I'm still not impressed with me. :) But I'm totally impressed with God and everything He has done this past year! He is amazing!!!
The start of this blog once again is to share an exciting adventure with all of you!
Starting Monday, April 25th, we're going to begin a
30 DAY GET FIT Challenge!
What does that mean? Different things for different people. It's about goal setting and life change. Choosing Life... One Moment at a Time.
My goal, (yours will probably be totally different from mine), for this 30 day Challenge is to walk 125 miles in that time frame. Did I actually say 125? Whew. OK then... Now I'm accountable since I'm sharing it with you. :)
I'm also going to do 3,000 crunches! That may not seem like that much, but it's a 100 per day. I don't even do ONE per day right now. Unless of course you count the side crunch I do every morning when the alarm goes off and I lean over, twist and temporarily exert myself as I slam the snooze button. Does that count as a crunch? I'm sure I burn at least 2 calories during that physical show of mastery over the alarm clock. One must show those horrible noise makers who is boss!
And... my final goal for the 30 days is: I want to lose 10 pounds! If I eat right, exersize and hit the alarm clock snooze at least 5 times each morning, (which means getting up at 4AM), I will have accomplished my goal! OK... I think I'll leave off that 4AM thing. I SO don't see that one happening.
SO WHO'S IN IT WITH ME??? Will you set some kind of personal goal and work with me to accomplish it in 30 days? We can help each other through this. This isn't a new year’s resolution... it's a jumpstart to LIFE CHANGE. It could be a physical, emotional, financial or spiritual goal. The choice is all yours.
Some potential ideas to consider:
- A weight loss (or weight gain) goal
- An exercise goal
- Giving up sugar for 30 days (except of course chocolate... that's just plain dangerous.) ;-)
- Committing to read one chapter in the Bible a day
- Committing to read 2 books in 30 days that will help you to grow
- Committing to pray 5 minutes a day
- Memorizing 10 new Bible verses
- It could be a relationship goal... working on relationships around you or a specific one
- Maybe it's choosing to forgive someone
- It could be cleaning out your garage... spring cleaning... painting a room or multiple rooms.
- Choosing not to eat out for 30 days and putting that money into savings... or paying off a bill... or something else.
You get the idea. It's a personal goal for you... It can be anything. But whatever it is, we'll support you in it as best as we can. :)
My guess is something is already coming to your mind. What would you like to accomplish in 30 days? What COULD YOU accomplish in 30 days with a support system of many who will walk beside you offering encouragement and help?
I'm going to help you any way I can. Which includes telling you if I gave in to the lust of my flesh and indulged in milk chocolate. It's hard for me to resist. :) We can talk about the ups, downs, highs, lows, funny moments and frustrating ones. I’ll share it all… and you are welcome to as well if you feel comfortable.
Let's be accountable to each other and meet our goals together. Together WE CAN do this!!! I even have people who know fitness and diet that will help us in our journey as well if those are one of your goals. And many of you also will have some incredible things to share that we will all benefit from.
So what do you think? Are you ready??? It's only 30 days! Let's do this. Let's have some fun together!!!
What is YOUR GOAL? :) Please post it below in the comment section when you're ready to share and commit to this journey! Day 1 is only a couple of days away!!! It's going to be a blast!
More to come...
